Sometimes a person just doesn’t have the bandwidth, or the capacity, to maintain something the way they want to. Lately, I’ve been struggling with finding the time to sit down and write blog posts, and it pains me to see that I haven’t written a post since late September. Another week and a half and it will have been a month since Remembering to Breathe.
However, for those of you who may assume that I’ve been slacking off on working on my writing, you are mistaken. Quite the opposite, actually. I’ve been putting far more focus into my fiction writing lately, both in terms of reading and writing, and I’ve been working on a story for my Creative Writing course at WSU.
This, combined with working 40 to 50+ hours per week some weeks, our puppy, and spending time with my beautiful partner, is why I haven’t written a blog post in nearly three weeks. It’s been weighing on my mind though, and I’ve felt bad that I have more or less “ghosted” my readers, as the kids these days would say, and not released any new material.
With that being said, I am making this post to inform those of you who enjoy reading my posts that I will be officially taking a break from my blog. It will remain active, and all of my material will still be accessible, however over the next couple of months I very likely will not be making any new posts.
That’s not to say that if inspiration strikes at the right time I won’t write and release something, that’s very possible. However, I will not be able to maintain my one to two posts a week mark I was hitting through much of this year. So, this is my official notice that you may not be hearing from me in a while as I work through some of my writing as well as personal and professional commitments.
Rest assured though, like Arnold, I will be back. In the meantime, I’ll be continuing to work on my writing, and hopefully, big things are just around the corner.
